Does Kate Bosworth Have Eating Disorder?

No, Kate Bosworth doesn’t have an eating disorder.

Kate Bosworth’s breakthrough role as surfer Anne Marie Chadwick in the 2002 box office sensation “Blue Crush” came when she was 18 years old.

Her acting goals may have come true, but Bosworth claims she was unprepared for the sudden attention and criticism that came with her newfound celebrity.

She admitted on an episode of InStyle’s podcast “Ladies First With Laura Brown” that it was a difficult period for her.

For three to four weeks, the actress, who deferred entrance to Princeton University to pursue an acting career in Los Angeles, spent 10 hours each day learning to surf.

Her efforts were rewarded. Not only was she cast in a major blockbuster film, but “Blue Crush” grossed $40 million domestically and received mostly positive critical reviews.

Far of the buzz surrounding the up-and-coming star at the time of the film’s release, she recalled, revolved around her physical form, particularly because she exercised seven hours per day and became “much more muscular” while preparing to play Anne Marie, she previously told About.com.

She claimed that she was losing weight because she was being scrutinized and was so nervous and agitated that if anyone saw photographs of her, it would be like seeing someone under duress.

Kate remarked that it was so heartbreaking that she wished she could disappear.

The Blue Crush star claimed she was subjected to a “genuine type of brutality” in the early 2000s, noting that she rarely smiles in images of herself. She went on to say that starting her work so soon after graduating from high school caused her to be incredibly hard on herself.
