Since 2020, True the Vote has been famed for supporting the disproven conspiracy theory that Joe Biden’s victory in the 2020 United States presidential election was due to fraud.
True to Vote took part in a discredited documentary in 2020 that claimed to expose rampant electoral fraud.
Engelbrecht is the organization’s founder, and Phillips is a former board member. Both appeared in the Dinesh D’Souza documentary “2,000 Mules,” which allegedly exposed widespread voter fraud.

On October 27, 2022, Catherine was subject to contempt hearings and was adjourned due to Halloween for failing to comply with a temporary restraining order issued in early September this year.
The Court instructed True the Vote to return any information gleaned from Konnech’s computer systems and provided the names of any people who helped access such information. Konnech moved for contempt proceedings in late September.
Catherine is in contempt for failure to comply with the Court’s ex parte temporary restraining order. Later, a court was detained by the U.S. Marshal for one day until they fully complied with the Court’s Order as set out in the Tro.”

The court judge ruled noted that the two defendants would be held in the Joe Corley Detention Facility, and charges would be applied.
The fees to reimburse the U.S. Marshals Service are $85.61 for each day of their confinement at the Joe Corley Detention Facility, a federal lockup 40 miles north of Houston; representatives must pay the debt before their release.
