Who Is Gabriel Hoyle? 39-Year-Old Suspect Arrested In Connection With The Fatal Shootings Of Two Men
Police have arrested Gabriel Hoyle in connection to the fatal shooting of a man in Brooklyn earlier this year. The 39-year-old preparator has been charged with murder and criminal possession of a weapon.
The slaying took place in Bedford-Stuyvesant, a neighborhood in the northern section of Brooklyn, New York City, New York. Records show that Hoyle was held without bail after a Saturday arraignment. Further details about Hoyle and his motive have not been disclosed as the case is currently under investigation.
On May 28, 53-year-old Alfred Bent was leaving a Party for a fallen friend on Decatur Street near Malcolm X Boulevard around 11:25 pm. Hoyle shot him in the head. Alfred was taken to Kings County Hospital but could not be saved.
Alfred was a mechanic and recently began working with a Company that contracts with the city’s Department of Transportation. He was sincere in his work and loved restoring vehicles.
The resident of Decatur Street had a 24-year-old daughter and an 8-year-old son, Jordan. Pierson, the mother of Jordan, got a call from a friend of her mother on Decatur St., letting her know that Alfred had been shot.
Pierson initially could not believe it and was beyond shocked. She headed to the hospital and learned the news was true. The lady praised Alfred for being a great and helpful person. “He was my knight in shining armor,” she said.
Further, she had to do the gut-wrenching task of telling Jordan his dad was dead. “It was the worst moment of my life,” she recalled. According to her, Jordan was “a spitting image” of his dad.
“My heart is broken. I can’t believe you’re gone,” Alfred’s younger sister Crystal wrote on Facebook. “Why are people so evil? I’m going to miss my big brother.”

According to his LinkedIn page, Lateek was a carpenter. He reportedly lived with his parents not far from where he was shot.

Lateek had a good reputation in the neighborhood. Charlene, 50, shared that Lateek loved kids, watched them, and usually took them to the park, including her grandson.
