Is Smooky Margielaa in Jail? The American rapper Smooky Margielaa Jail sentence has made his fans anxious and disheartened after the news of his arrest broke out.

Toumani Diabaté, famed for his stage name Smooky Margielaa gained limelight after appearing alongside the A$ A.P. Mob on their Cozy Tapes project during his teenage.

Bronx native Smooky Margielaa got arrested in connection to a shooting that took place in Queens, New York, earlier this summer. The rapper was born on June 26, 2002, in Bronx, NY, America.

His first song emerged as an artist to watch at age 15 with appearances on the songs “Black Card,” “The Bahamas,” “Get The Bag,” and “B.Y.F. “from A$ A.P. Mob’s collection Cozy Tapes Vol. 2: To Coz in 2017.

From 2018-2020 the rapper released several singles on A$AP Rocky’s label A.W.G.E., including “Flight To Memphis, “featuring Chris Brown and Rocky. Also, his latest single, “Perfect Aim, “was released on July 1.

Why Was An American Rapper Arrested?

American rapper Smooky Margielaa has been arrested and charged with numerous offenses, including second-degree attempted murder, as confirmed by The New York Police Department.

Diabeté was arrested on September 1 in connection with an incident in the early morning of July 25 at the 41st Street and Astoria Boulevard intersection in Queens, New York.

According to sources, Queens News Source, the argument devolved into a shooting, leaving one person wounded in the stomach. Police released surveillance camera footage of the shooting on July 28 in an appeal for information.

After reaching an attorney, the FADER revealed the rapper, Diabaté, is charged with attempted murder, assault, criminal possession of a weapon, and reckless endangerment. 

The rapper allegedly aimed the gun at another person after a group of men reportedly got into an argument.

Based on reports, the rapper is said to have responded by “firing multiple shots at the unidentified individual” and then passed his gun to a third person who promptly fled the scene.

According to sources, the rapport would face a prison sentence of up to 25 years.

Meanwhile, the 20-years-old rapper hasn’t issued an official public statement, though users on Reddit have pointed out that this isn’t MarGielaa’s first run-in with trouble since he rose to fame.

The American rapper was taken into Police custody on September 1, when he was charged with attempted murder in the second degree. 

As per reports, the incident leading to the rapper being kept behind bars occurred on 41st Street, across from N.Y.C.’s Grand Central Parkway.

The shooting event took place in front of 24-04 41st St., across from the Grand Central Parkway, When a group of guys got into an argument at the intersection of Astoria Boulevard on July 25 shortly before two in the morning.

Before his arrest for murder charges following the news, sources reported Smooky alleged involvement in the sexual assault of a minor in Spain.

As per reports, the rapper and his crew were being investigated for their possible involvement in the rape of a 17-year-old girl backstage at Barcelona hotspot Razzmatazz when the young New York rapper refuted the accusations. 

However, Smooky claimed he was absent from the event, and his words by confirming that he was not present, releasing a statement that did not name him as a person of interest.
