Lance Mountain was born on 13th June 13, 1964, in the town of Pasadena in California.

The artist was born to British citizens Ronald VJ and Patricia Mountain.

He was the youngest of three siblings. He had an older sister Ronnamay. Similarly, he had an older brother named Bonnie.

His older brother also used to skate at one time. However, he no longer skates.

First of all, young Lance came to know about skateboarding through his friend.

His love began when his friend Enrique Esparza gave him his board in 1975.
