Ross McComish unexpectedly departed away this week, devastating his friends, family, and the restaurant where he worked, The Gannet.
In a social media post, the West End restaurant paid tribute to the skilled cook, complimenting Ross’s enthusiasm for the business and his “charm” and “quick wit.”
The post read:
“Yesterday, we received the devastating news that our friend & colleague Ross McComish has passed away.
“During the time Ross spent with us. He endeared himself with charm and quick wit and was loved by all.
“It’s incredibly sad to see such an enthusiastic chef with a passion for our industry, his whole life, and career ahead of him, taken so soon.
“Our thoughts go out to his family at this difficult time. He will be dearly missed by all here at The Gannet.”
Ross’s brother Euan thanked the Gannet for “taking care of him” and said:
“he was one in a million and loved working with you all! Love you big bro.”
His big brother Jack added:
“Thank you for look after my wee bro, he was in the happiest place to cook as a chef and be loved too.”

He was also the Chef at Sugo Pasta, a restaurant specializing in fresh pasta made daily in the kitchen. It serves traditionally throughout various regions of Italy, like Lazio, Tuscany, Sicily, Puglia, Abruzzo, Campania, Piedmont, and Lombardy.
Ross was born and raised in Glasgow, United Kingdom, and Went to Lanark Grammar School. He was currently studying Mathematics at the University of Strathclyde before sadly passing away.
Ross mentioned that he was single through his profile on Facebook. However, the chef did not seem to enjoy social media apps, as he had not posted anything on them since 2020.
