Trampoline and World Cup
American Native, Gluckstein began his career as a taekwondo player. He practiced taekwondo in school.
Unfortunately, the taekwondo school shut down, and Steven couldn’t practice taekwondo anymore. And, there was no other taekwondo school nearby.
Consequently, his mother signed him up for gymnastics class against his will. However, Steven was hesitant to go to the gym as gymnastics sometimes got a “girly” reputation.
Later, Steven loved gymnastics. So he found himself jumping on the trampoline at the gym, flipping into foam pins, and swinging on bars.
Fortunately, 1996-1999 World Champion Tatiana Kovaleva approached Steven. And, she asked his family if Steven was interested in joining Trampoline Team.
Despite their lack of knowledge in the Trampoline sport, his parents sent him to Trampoline Team. They knew that their son would be a good player in the sport as he was strong, flexible, and disciplined.
Later, Steven achieved the first U.S. Champion title of his career at the Visa Championship, 2009.
Similarly, in 2009, Steven and his partner Logan Dooley became the first U.S. team to win a gold medal in Trampoline in World Cup Event Series.
