Suella Braverman is an established barrister and politician from Britain who has served as Home Secretary from October 25, 2022. Since 2015, the politician has been a Parliament (MP) member for Fareham in Hampshire.

The Home Minister has become a buzzing topic among British citizens after she resumed her work from September to October 19, 2022, under Liz Truss, a six-day break.

Besides her political career, from 2020 to 2022, she worked as attorney general for England and Wales. As a Conservative Party member, she was chair of the European Research Group till 2018.

On October 19, 2022, Suella resigned as a home secretary during an ongoing political crisis but was reinstated six days later by Liz Truss’s successor as Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak.

Harrow-born Suella grew up near Wembley in north-west London with her parents, who come from Kenya and Mauritius.

The politician was born to her parets,Uma (née Mootien-Pillay) and Christie Fernandes, on April 3,1980.

The 42-year-old politician belongs to Indian-British ancestry because both of her parents, who immigrated to Britain in the 1960s, were of Indian descent.

The mother of the home minister reportedly served as an NHS nurse, a Conservative councilor, and a candidate for MP in Tottenham in the general election of 2001 and the 2003 Brent East by-election. Christie was a nurse, a councilor in Brent, and a person of Hindu Tamil Mauritian origin.

On the other hand, Uma, her Father of Goan ancestry, an Indian in Kenya, served with a housing association. Stella’s uncle Mahen Kundasamy, a former Mauritian High Commissioner to London.

Suella, who is of Indian heritage, revealed she feared a trade deal with India that would increase migration to the UK. However, Indians represent a huge group of people who overstayed their visas.
