Jeremy Shu-How Lin, commonly known as Jeremy Lin, is a Taiwanese- American professional basketball player. Lin was the first American of Chinese or Taiwanese origin to play in the NBA and is one of the few Asian Americans to ever play in the league. Lin used to play for the Beijing Ducks of the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA).

During the 2011-12 NBA season, Lin generated a cultural phenomenon known as Linsanity after winning an unexpected lead with the New York knicks. After that, he was approached by the knicks, and he started playing for the knicks.

What Happened To Jeremy Lin?

In March of season 2022, Lin underwent late-season surgery to repair a torn meniscus on the left knee. The Knicks chose not to match the Rocket’s three-year offer for $25 million, in which Lin would be paid $14.8 million as a “poison Pill.”

Though this, he did not share much information about his injury. Playing violent games can always cause this type of minor injury, so there is nothing to worry about. He has been playing his game fit and fine as always. 

Although he had not shared anything about injury and health on his social media account, it seems like he is doing fine and will be back in the next game soon. 

Jeremy Lin Career Earnings and Net Worth

The estimated net worth of Jeremy Lin in 2022 is $36 million.

On July 9, 2015, Jeremy lin signed a $4.3 million contract with the Charlotte Hornets for two years. (2015-2016). Lin declined another year’s agreement with the hornets and became an unrestricted free agent on July 2016.

On July 7, 2016, Lin signed a contract with Brooklyn Nets for $36 million for three years (2016-2018). From 2018 to 2019, Lin played a season for the Atlanta Hawks and Toronto raptors.

Lin signed a $3 million deal with Beijing Ducks on August 27, 2019. In 2021 lin joined Santa Cruz and played a season there, and finally, on June 11, 2021, Lin joined the Beijing ducks again, and he has been playing for the team since then.

His sources of income are his Professional Basketball career, Endorsements, and investments in various sectors. He made approximately $14.9 million yearly through salary and $4 million in 2020 through endorsements with brands like Adidas and Tag Heuer.

Jeremy Lin’s Ethnicity: Family And Brothers

Jeremy Shu-How Lin belongs to the Asian ethnicity.

He was born in Torrance, California, on August 23, 1988. His parents, Gie-Ming Lin and Shirley Lin moved from Taiwan to the United States in the mid-1970s. He grew up with his two siblings.

Lin’s paternal family are Hoklo people from China. 

Due to this, Lin has been the victim of racial insults linked to his Asian origins. In sixth grade, when he started playing more competitively, he got a lot of racist comments. He was called “Wonton soup,” “open your eyes, and many more.’ He got bullied about this ethnicity throughout his life.

Jeremy was the middle child; he had an elder brother, josh lin, and a younger brother, Joseph Lin. Father Gie-Ming taught his son to play basketball at the local Young Men Christian Association (YMCA).
