What Is Wrong With Colt McCoy Health? Is Arizona Cardinals QB Playing Today?

What is wrong with Colt McCoy health? American football quarterback Daniel “Colt” McCoy plays for the National Football League’s Arizona Cardinals (NFL).

He participated in collegiate football at Texas, where as a senior in 2009, he received several accolades and trophies.

Kellen Moore of Boise State is McCoy’s closest competitor all-time in games won by an NCAA Division I FBS quarterback. In the third round of the 2010 NFL Draft, he was selected by the Cleveland Browns.

He has also played for the New York Giants, Washington Redskins, and San Francisco 49ers, largely as a backup quarterback.

McCoy played football for the Texas Longhorns under coach Mack Brown from 2005 through 2009 while he was a student at the University of Texas at Austin.

From 2006 to 2009, Colt started four seasons for the Longhorns. He was the only player in school history to have won or shared the MVP award for the squad all four years.

It is said that Colt McCoy Health is not that good, so let’s get deep into it to know more.

What Is Wrong With Colt McCoy Health?

Talking about Colt McCoy health, the Cardinals’ backup quarterback was placed on the injured reserve list on Wednesday, according to the team.

Third-string quarterback Trace McSorley has moved up the depth chart to replace Kyler Murray, who will be out for at least the first four games of the season.

Although it doesn’t mention his injury specifically, Wednesday’s statement states that McCoy “has been battling with an arm issue during much of training camp.”

According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, the quarterback injured his calf.

Last year, McCoy was Murray’s backup, but after Murray suffered an ankle injury in 2021, McCoy took over three games.

In Murray’s absence, the 36-year-old quarterback guided Arizona to two victories and concluded the season with 740 passing yards, three touchdown passes, and just one interception in 99 attempts. He participated in eight games in total.

However, it’s unlikely that the injury will substantially affect the Cardinals as long as Colt McCoy health getsbetter. Arizona’s season kicks off against the Chiefs at home on Sunday at 4:25 pm ET.

Some were worried that McCoy would sustain a serious injury on Sunday because Kyler Murray’s condition remains unknown as he recovers from an ankle injury.

Nevertheless, it seems as though Arizona’s No. 2 quarterback might still be able to play next week even if Murray still needs additional recovery time.

Against Carolina, McCoy allegedly strained his pectoral muscle, according to NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport on Monday.

According to Rapoport, the veteran quarterback of the Cardinals “should be healthy enough” to play against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 11 if necessary.

The team is now considering McCoy day-to-day, and his performance in practice this week will determine whether or not he plays next weekend, according to Arizona head coach Kliff Kingsbury, who made the announcement later in the day.

If McCoy is healthy, the Cardinals’ best choice at quarterback if Murray must sit out again next Sunday is still McCoy.

Chris Streveler, the No. 3 quarterback for Arizona, accomplished nothing during his time against the Panthers to merit a position higher on the team’s depth chart.
