Later, Dahmer was given a sixteenth life sentence for a separate murder committed in Ohio in 1978.

However, Christopher Scarver, a fellow prisoner at the Columbia Correctional Institution in Portage, Wisconsin, beat Dahmer to death on November 28, 1994.
