On Sunday, reports of the comedian’s alleged demise gained traction as the “R.I.P. Bill Nye” page on Facebook surpassed one million “likes.”

Immediately after learning of the talented 66-year-old comedian, television personality, and scientist’s passing, hundreds of followers began posting condolences on the Facebook page.

While some gullible followers accepted the tweet at face value, others instantly expressed skepticism about the claim, possibly having learned their lesson from the abundance of false celebrity death rumors that have surfaced recently.

Since the passing of a comedian of Bill Nye’s renown would be massive news across networks, several claimed that the information had not been carried on any major American networks, indicating that it was a phony report.

A vast majority (95%) of respondents, according to a recent survey done for the Celebrity Post, believe that the Bill Nye death rumors are no longer amusing.

According to a statement made by the comedian’s representatives on Monday (September 12), Bill Nye is not dead. “He now joins the long list of famous people who have fallen for this scam. They advised them to stop trusting anything they read online; he is still alive and healthy.”

Some supporters have expressed outrage at the false report, claiming it was careless, upsetting, and harmful to supporters of the adored comic. Others argue that this demonstrates his universal appeal.

Bill Nye Biography Explored

Bill Nye was born on November 27, 1955. Edwin Darby Nye, a World War II veteran, was his father, and Jacqueline Jenkins, a codebreaker, was his mother.

Bill’s father managed to escape from Japanese POW camps and kept time by making sundials while incarcerated. One of Bill’s scientific efforts was eventually greatly influenced by this in the future.

Following a year at Lafayette Elementary, Bill transferred to Washington’s Alice Deal Junior High. Sidwell Friends School is where he earned his diploma in 1973. He attended Cornell University for four years, graduating with a mechanical engineering degree. Bill attended Carl Sagan’s astronomy course at Cornell University.
