To date, he appeared in 18 total Briers for his native Newfoundland and Labrador.

With a fantastic junior career, Brad found it easy to get into the professional teams.

He first qualified for the 2003 Nokia Brier, where he set a record of 6-5.

By 2004 Nokia Brier had already qualified as one of the greatest curlers in Canada with an 8-4 record.

In 2005, he won the Tim Horton’s Brier with his team, re-recording 6-5.

In 2007, he finished as a runner-up in the Tim Horton Brier yet again.

Unfortunately, in the following year, the Gushue team could not qualify.

At the 2009 brier, the team fared better but remained in 4th place at the end of the tournament.

Next, the 2011 Brier held in London saw the Gushue rink bag a bronze medal.

With a skip in 2012, Brad returned in 2013 to bag only 4th place yet again against Northern Ontario.

Later in 2014, he missed the Brier yet again. However, he bounced back in 2015, finishing well at 2nd place.

In 2016, he entered the finale after nine years of loss-streak but only bagged second place yet again.

Following a devastating drought of win, the Gushue rink finally won the 2017 Brier. The team bagged a 7-6 win at the finals.

By the 2018 Brier, Gushue was recognized as the skip with the most wins in the tournament.

Olympics

Brad’s only appearance at the Olympics was in 2006, where he won gold.

Moreover, he felt amazing to represent his team at the grand stage alongside other great teams.

At the time, he was joined by another great curler named Russ Howard, replacing Mike Adam.

Then, the Gushue team defeated Jeff Stoughton’s team in the final trial to qualify.
