The American lobbyist, political advisor, lawyer, and convicted fraudster Paul John Manafort Jr. has served as a Republican Party campaign adviser for many years.

Manafort was in prison from June 2018 to May 2020. He was briefly detained at the United States Penitentiary Canaan in Waymart, Pennsylvania, during that time. As inmate #35207-016, he was housed at the Federal Correctional Institution, Loretto, in Pennsylvania.
He was transferred to Manhattan’s Metropolitan Correctional Center in June 2019. Pennsylvania, in August 2019. Manafort was given house confinement on May 13, 2020, because of COVID-19 worries.

Charles Kushner, the father of (Jared) Kushner, served as chairman of NorCrown Bank in Livingston, New Jersey, which provided the $150,000 loan.
