Susan Mills Obituary: 59 Years Old Missing Elbridge Woman Found Dead

The tragic news of Susan C. Mills, 59, who had been reported missing, has been confirmed as she was found dead in Carpenter Falls.

The body of Susan C. Mills, age 59, from Elbridge, who had been reported missing six days prior, was discovered in Carpenter Falls on December 18th, 2022, according to the New York State Police.

Mills was last seen leaving her home on Halfway Road in Elbridge, which she had been living in since Monday, December 19th, 2022, around noon. The next day, her disappearance was reported to authorities.

What Did Happen with 59 Years Old Susan Mills?

Susan C. Mills, a woman in her fifties who was last seen in Onondaga County, was the focus of a search Party that convened on Saturday at a nature trail in Cayuga County. The group consisted of approximately forty people.

Mills was last seen leaving her home on Halfway Road in Elbridge at noon on December 12th, the day she went missing.

Her vehicle and cell phone were located on Route 41A in Niles, close to the entrance of the Carpenter Falls Unique Area.

During the search for Mills, the New York State Police enlisted the assistance of the New York State Forest Rangers, search and rescue teams from Cayuga, Onondaga, and Oswego counties, DEC conservation officers, and several friends of the family.

What Did Police Say About Susan Mills Death?

According to a news release issued by the state Police, search teams located a woman’s body on Sunday in the vicinity of Carpenter Falls in Niles, which is located in Cayuga County.

The state Police, state forest rangers, officers from the Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC), and members of Mills’ family and friends, as well as search and rescue teams from Cayuga, Onondaga, and Oswego counties, participated in the search.

Photographs of the search were published in The Auburn Citizen. On Friday, a vehicle and cell phone belonging to Mills were found close to the entrance of the Carpenter Falls Unique Area in Niles, which is located off Route 41A.

This area encompasses 37 acres of rugged terrain and waterfalls. At approximately 7 pm on Sunday, the identity of the deceased woman who was discovered in Carpenter Falls was confirmed by state Police as being Mills.

The state Police have not disclosed any information regarding the whereabouts of Mills’ body or any other details regarding her passing.

Who Was Susan Mills?

Because of Mills’s steadfast commitment to the welfare of the Jordan-Elbridge community, she enjoyed a high level of respect there.

Since she was only eight years old, she had been working at the Jordan Fall Festival, where she was in charge of the homemade doughnut booth and raised tens of thousands of dollars for charitable causes in the community.
