The athletic career of Tia-Clair started early from her high school. However, her professional career as a CrossFit athlete began in 2013.

Initially, she was focussing on 400m hurdling after moving to Gladstone.

In the meantime, her husband had introduced her to CrossFit and encouraged her to participate.

At that time, Shane Orr used to play for Gladstone Rugby Union. And he used CrossFit training as supplement training for his rugby.

Initially, Tia-Clair was reluctant to get involved in the fitness sport. However, she started the participation in 2013.

But, she only qualified for the regionals ad was only ranked 18th in the Australian Regional.

However, the athlete took this loss seriously and trained hard. Finally, in 2015, she qualified for CrossFit games.

Although Tia became a runner-up in the 2015 CrossFit games, she was named Rookie of the year.

Finally, in 2017 she convincingly won CrossFit games with a lead of 64 points.
