Douglas Lima is known as the Phenom in the boxing world. He made his official professional debut in Wild Bill’s Fight Night in 2006.
The match was set against Julio Carlos Molestina. Douglas eventually won in the Knock out round. This was his first fight and first win.
After his professional debut, Douglas Lima consecutively won the next four fights. The fights were against boxers such as Steve Linton, Nathan Ostercamp, John Nellermoe, and Ray Perales.
But with victories come defeats too. Douglas came to terms with his first professional defeat in a match against Matt Brown in the International Sport Combat Federation Pro East Coast Welterweight Title.

American Fight League
Douglas started in the American Fight League after being invited by Brent Weener in may of 2008. Since Douglas was a rookie, Brent Weener thought it’d be easy to defend his title.
But as the match progressed in the first round, Brent went for a triangle choke move for Douglas which he was unsuccessful.
Brent went for the same move in the second round, which transitioned into an armbar, making Douglas give up.

After winning another fight in a total knockout, Douglas wanted to explore the world of extreme cage fighting. His debut match was against Justin Haskin in the WEC 39.
However, due to some immigration issues, Douglas could not appear for the match. And the WEC never even scheduled another fight.
But Douglas did fight in the Kind of Cage. In his debut match against Ultimate Fighter Titleholder Charles Blanchard, he lost by a unanimous decision.

Maximum Fighting Championship
Douglas competed in the Maximum Fighting Championship in the September of 2010.
His first match was against Ryan Ford. It was Home ground for Ryan Ford, but Douglas defeated him with an armbar move at the beginning of the second round.
For his victory, he was given a chance to fight Jesse Juarez for the MFC World Welterweight Title. Jesse got defeated by Lima through an armbar midway in the final round. With this win, he got the title of the MFC World Welterweight.
After gaining his title, he had to defend the title too. He defended his title against Terry Martin at the MFC 29. The match ended in a total knockout.
Bellator Fighting Championship
Bellator Fighting Championship announced they had signed Douglas Lima in May of 2011. He entered the fifth season of the Bellator Fighting Championship.
