Telles was taken into custody on September 7, 2022, a Wednesday.

According to CNN, the man was jailed for slaying investigative Journalist Jeff German. Jeff, 69, was found dead by the police at his residence on Saturday morning, September 3. His murder is suspected of having happened a day earlier.

Robert’s anger toward the Journalist is thought to have motivated the murder. To be clear, earlier this year, Robert ran for reelection to his Public Administration role. However, due to Jeff making Robert’s transgressions public, he lost the race.

According to Jeff’s claims, Telles had improper contact with Roberta Lee, his colleague. Roberta and Robert were discreetly filmed entering the back seat of the automobile by one of Robert’s coworkers.

The politician argued in his defense that he was being falsely accused of a crime and that the reporter was out to ruin his marriage. Additionally, following Jeff’s defeat in the June election, Robert sent out a string of scathing tweets in his direction.

Additionally, Jeff had numerous stab wounds on his body when he was discovered dead outside of his home. According to Daily Mail, on September 7, police searched for Robert’s home, and on that day, Robert was carried from the house and put into an ambulance.
