The CBI got the case after receiving a complaint from a merchant who had completed and billed for construction work relating to the N.F. Railway.
According to the allegations, the CGST Additional Commissioner (Dibrugarh) raised a service tax claim of Rs. 48.43 lakh. The merchant chose to appeal the adjudication order to the Commissioner.
According to allegations, the official demanded a bribe of 4.50 lakh through middlemen. Following talks, the sum was decreased to 3.83 lakh.

Raju Shaktivel Arrest And Charges Details
In an alleged bribery case which involved Rs 3.83 lakh, the CBI detained Raju Shaktivel, Commissioner, Central GST, Central Excise & Customs, Guwahati, and a middleman. According to CBI sources, the middleman’s name is Mahavir Jain.
According to authorities, a lawsuit was filed against Raju and three middlemen after a contractor claimed that he completed construction work for the N.F. Railway and raised costs.
Based on the complaint, the agency set up a trap and detained the suspected intermediary, Mahavir Jain, as he was receiving the money. According to the agency, the Commissioner was also detained.
Searches were undertaken on the accused’s premises, resulting in the recovery of incriminating materials.
Officially, both arrested suspects will be brought before the Competent Court.

Raju Shaktivel Was Also Arrested For Killing A Man
Sakthivel Raju, an addl Customs commissioner, was arrested after being accused of losing control of the car and mowing down the auto driver and guard.
Pandurang Kokare, 40, died as a result of serious injuries sustained when he was allegedly hit by a car, while security guard Ashok Bhandare, 55, is being treated at Rajawadi Hospital.
Following the event, the IRS officer, Sakthivel Raju, an additional commissioner of Customs assigned to the Exports department, was arrested.
The incident occurred at Mohite Patil Nagar in Mankhurd, according to the police, as the accused was driving from Mankhurd to his apartment in Vashi, Navi Mumbai. Raju lost control of the speeding vehicle and collided with two persons walking along the side of the road.
Raju’s car was damaged in the incident, according to the police.
They added that he did not abandon the scene of the accident and rushed the two injured pedestrians to the hospital with the assistance of bystanders and police.
Trimurti Chawl in Jaihind Nagar, Mankhurd, is where Kokare and Bhandare live. The two went for a morning walk as part of their usual routine.
Following the event, the accused was detained on the scene and booked under Sections 304 A, 279, 337, and 338 of the IPC.
