Following the accident, Rico was rushed to a nearby hospital. But he was referred to a larger hospital for a comprehensive diagnosis due to the seriousness of his injuries. On reaching the hospital, authorities declared his case intensive.

Rico’s picture lying down in the hospital with ventilators, defibrillators, dialysis machines, suction devices, and other life-saving devices made family and fans worried about his situation.

Following the deadly mishap, the reality television star was placed on life support in the hospital after calls were made on social media by his colleagues and management, soliciting prayers for him.

Following the singer’s death, his former housemates Alex Asogwa, and Alex Unusual, shared the news of the crash on her Twitter page.

Fellow ex-housemates Alex Unusual and Tobi Bakare confirmed the report on Thursday via social media. Alex wrote on Twitter: “This is not what we agreed, Rico. Rest in peace.” Similarly, Tobi shared a picture with Rico with the caption: “This is how I will remember you, brother.”

Rico Swavey Father And Mother

Late Nigerian singer Rico was born to a half Nigerian Father and an Italian mother. As of 2022, the singer was 29 years, was born in 1992.

The singer has seven siblings. Fandom reveals he was from a large family as his parents had eight children, among which he was the only son.

His social media upload, posted on April 9, 2018, showed the singer was close to his mom.

Based on the online portals, his family comes from the Yoruba tribe of Nigeria.

The singer was rumored to be in a relationship with Ahneeka, whom he at Big Brother. Rico and Ahneeka shared a common name Rineeka provided by his fans. Iwuchukwu “Ahneeka” Marianne Onyii is a tv presenter by profession.

What Happened To Rico Swavey?

The Nigerian singer faced a deadly motor accident on October 11, leading him to a coma and ultimately death on October 13.

Following the mishap, Rico’s team shared a video of the horrific accident scene involving an 18-seater bus and Rico’s white car, which was seriously damaged. It showed the extent of damages to the vehicle, with the front bashed in and the windshield shattered.

According to PUNCH, the singer was involved in a dangerous motor crash in the early hours of Tuesday at Abraham Adesanya roundabout, Lekki-Epe Expressway.

After the incident, a group of Nigerian entertainers had initially launched a fundraiser for the housemate following his accident, hoping to save his life.

Despite his death announcement, the fundraiser on his website collected 821,000 Naira (2.71% of the goal) at the time of writing. The sum is equivalent to just over 1800 USD.

Moreover, hashtag #PrayForRicoSwavey was trending among fans, praying and hoping that the celeb would come alive.
