Following his impressive performance, he was awarded the 2001 Orange Junior Sportsperson of the Year. He also received this award in 2002 and 2003.

The bowler made his official debut in the PBA Tour for the 2008-09 season. Further, he was a very experienced rookie, which was reflected in his games.

Likewise, he dominated the tournament and instantly became the second seed. He quickly advanced to the finals after qualifying all his round to face the first seeder, Mike Fagan.

After failing to reclaim the title for two seasons, Belmonte finally went on a rampage by winning back-to-back three titles in the 2011-12 season.

Further, his first and second titles came in the Chameleon Open and GEICO Shark Open.

Finally, he completed his title hattrick by winning the Pepsi PBA Elite Players Championship.
